Join us for a training on the use of the climbing wall at The American Mountaineering Center. This training is required for those interested in running programming that uses the wall. We will provide training for two general categories of wall climbs: Open Wall and Class Instruction
Qualifications: 1) A CMC School Instructor who is recommended by a CMC School Director and is currently teaching a CMC Group approved school. Or 2) Complete the following criteria and form to lead Climbing Wall Trips: a) Are an approved CMC trip leader. b) Have graduated from the Alpine Climbing School (ACS) or CMC Intermediate Rock Climbing or equivalent. c) Have participated in two climbs at the AMC Rock Wall and have verification from the trip climbing wall leader. d) Must be able to demonstrate proper belay technique, ability to teach other people proper belay technique, conduct belay tests on others, and complete the roles outlined in the Climbing Wall Leader Job Description.
